MEDIA RELEASE, FEBRUARY: Zeus Street Greek is taking ‘fresh casual’ dining to a new level with the launch of their new menu, fusing modern Greek street food with the best of Australian produce.

The classics like the ‘Uncle Tzimmy’ Pita will remain a permanent fixture but will now be joined by menu items marking Zeus’ further evolution of interweaving its Hellenic Greek heritage with Australian ingredients and contemporary flavour profiles.

The playful new menu offers four additional meat based dishes including; two new beef pitas using premium Wagyu Beef, the Piccalilli Pork pita which puts a Greek twist on the classic mustard and pork pairing, and the Otto pita which indulges the Australian love of schnitzel, combining chicken schnitzel with a zingy preserved lemon mayo, Aegean slaw and caramelised onions.

For non-meat eaters, there are several new choices including the Phyleto Fish pita, fried flathead, fennel cucumber slaw, tzatziki and parsley, and the Fimi Falafel pita, premium vegan falafel, cucumber slaw and beetroot hummus.

A seasonal salad offering has been added to the mix to offer customers greater variety and highlight Zeus’ commitment to sourcing local seasonal produce. The first seasonal salad to be served up will be the Cucumber and Quinoa Salad.

For sweet tooths there are two new desserts on offer, both variations on the much-loved ice cream sandwich made from 100% Australian dairy products. For chocolate lovers, the Double Choc hits the mark whilst for traditionalists the Baklava Sandwich is the ultimate end to a Greek feast at Zeus.

For Gods in training, the arena has doubled with three Lil Dimitri packs now on the menu. Mini Gods can now choose from crumbed fish, chicken or calamari, all three options come with chips, juice and plenty of fun activities to keep the whole family happy.

The innovative new menu is a testament to Zeus’ ability to fuse the old with new and commitment to evolving with their customers, taking Australians on a pioneering journey into modern Greek street food. In keeping with Zeus commitment to ‘food honestly’, all new ingredients are sourced from like-minded families who also value quality, sustainability and integrity.

Costa Anastasiadis, co-founder of Zeus comments, “At the heart of Zeus is a sense of hospitality and sharing, passion for quality and building a community, and this is reflected in everything we do, our new menu launch is no exception.”

“We invite our customers to join us in our journey to share and celebrate our unique take on modern Greek street food – one that challenges the perception of the beloved ‘Souvlaki’: from a greasy hang-over cure, to a healthy flavoursome meal. Our new menu items reflect the valued input of the communities we have built and our dedicated Zeus product development team.”

The Zeus mastermind responsible for leading the exciting new menu developments and direction is Peter Augoustis who comments, “Whilst remaining true to our Hellenic heritage, we place emphasis on delivering a fresh and healthy offering through the use of high quality ingredients, and we relish all opportunities to evolve and create. Our new dishes balance brighter, bolder and more diverse contemporary flavours with classic Greek cooking techniques.”

“We have also expanded our vegetarian and kids offerings so there is something for everyone, for every occasion. As with our previous menu, it is been designed for sharing – the ultimate Greek food tradition”

The new menu is available at all 10 Zeus restaurants from February 1st 2017 across Australia.
