Smothered in our secret red pepper dip, they’re too good to resist!
On a trip to Greece in the early hours of the morning, surrounded by food trucks in the heart of Athens and with a rumble in our stomachs, the idea for our latest side was born. Watching the decadently rich food being dished out to hungry customers one after another created the lightning moment. Greeks call this late night food “Vromiko” and it satisfies all those early hour comfort cravings. A plane trip back to Australia with a notebook of ideas and excitement, we set to work on our most exciting side yet!
Sampling the delights of Athens bustling street food and the excitement of eating real food that leaves you feeling good, we channelled the inspiration of the richness of Vromiko into a side that takes the simplicity of Greek street food and gives it a cheeky, delicious twist.
With help from Yia Yia of course we created our super-secret red pepper dip recipe! Oozy, tangy with a hint of spice, our red pepper dip compliments the saltiness and bite of our hand cut haloumi chips. We then hit it with smoky, creamy yoghurt sauce for the perfect flavour combination. Served with a generous sprinkle of dried oregano and freshly torn mint leaves for a layer of freshness.
